AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT
APPROXIMATELY 6.09 ACRES AT 10900 ARCHER AVENUE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 65, Act 5, Section 7 -1 -9 of the Illinois Compiled
Statutes a municipality may annex any contiguous, uninhabited, unincorporated territory that it
owns; and
WHEREAS, the Village owns the subject property (PINS 22 -14- 401 -010 and 22 -13-
401 -026) described on the Plat of Annexation attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the subject property is uninhabited, not within the corporate limits of any
municipality but is contiguous to the Village of Lemont; and
WHEREAS, that pursuant to Chapter 65, Act 5, Section 7 -1 -1 of the Illinois Compiled
Statutes, the new boundary of the area annexed shall extend to the far side of any adjacent
highway and shall include all of every highway with the area annexed; and
WHEREAS, the subject property and adjacent highways proposed to be annexed will
continue to be serviced by the same Library District and the Lemont Fire Protection District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Lemont, Counties of Cook, DuPage, and Will, State of Illinois, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby adopted and incorporated into and made
a part of this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2. That the subject property (PINs 22 -14- 401 -010 and 22 -14 -401 -026) and
the adjacent highway, being accurately described and depicted on the Plat of Annexation
attached hereto as Exhibit A is hereby annexed to the Village of Lemont, County of Cook,
DuPage and Will, State of Illinois.
Section 3. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to record with the Recorder of
Deeds and to file with the County Clerk a certified copy of this Ordinance together with an
accurate map of the territory annexed appended to this Ordinance as Exhibit A.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
Section 5. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith shall be and the
same are hereby repealed.
