RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
WITH WIGHT & COMPANY FOR A SPACE NEEDS ANALYSIS
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont desires to enter into an agreement with Wight &
Company for the purpose of conducting a Space Needs Analysis of the Village Hall, Police
Department and Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, the Proposal attached hereto outlines the terms and conditions of the
Agreement between the Village of Lemont and Wight & Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES that the Village President is hereby authorized to execute the Proposal for a Space
Needs Analysis between the Village of Lemont and Wight & Company attached hereto as Exhibit
A.

It was a pleasure to be able to spend time with you last week discussing your vision
for the Village of Lemont. We, at Wight, look forward to assisting you the
implementation of your plans.
Based on our discussions, I am pleased to submit our proposal to perform a Space
Needs Analysis for your Police Department, Administrative Department(s) and Public
Works Group.
SCOPE OF WORK
Wight will facilitate three (3) planning sessions, one each with representatives,
selected by the Village, from the Police Department, Administrative Department(s)
and the Public Works Group. We would expect to do all of these sessions during one
(1) calendar day. The purpose of these planning meetings would be to develop a
detailed work plan, list of deliverables and a project schedule to perform a space
needs study for each department. We would document the results of these
meetings and review the work plan with you and /or your Village Manager to obtain
your concurrence prior to moving forward.
During these sessions, we would need to have specific departmental representatives
assigned to be our main point of contact for scheduling follow -on meetings and
gathering needed information.
SCHEDULE
These types of projects normally take four (4) to six (6) weeks to complete. A formal
milestone and activity schedule will be prepared after the planning sessions.
COMPENSATION AND PAYMENT
We propose to perform the scope of work for the lump sum price of Twenty Five
Thousand dollars ($25,000.00).

We also propose to defer invoicing the Village for the work until we began any
follow -on design work. If the Village chooses to implement the results of the study
by contracting with Wight for any of the following services:
• Design services for a new police station, remodeling of the Village
Hall and a new or addition to the public works facility, or
• Design build services for a new police station or a new public works
facility,
Wight would be willing to credit the Village the study fee. Additionally, if the Village
elects to have Wight perform a portion of the design services specified in the first
bullet point above, we would be willing to negotiate a partial credit of the study fee.
Should the Village decide not to implement any follow -on project with Wight or
decide to defer any follow -on project longer than five (5) months, we would invoice
the Village for the entire lump sum amount five (5) months after we complete the
study.
