AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
THE ZONING MAP OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT
FOR THE UNION OIL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, UNION OIL is the Owner of a tract of land, hereinafter referred to
as "the subject property ", located on Main Street a /k /a Chicago Joliet Road, East of Route
83 in Lemont, Illinois and legally described on the attached Exhibit "A "; and
WHEREAS, UNION OIL, the Petitioner herein, has filed an Application for a
Zoning Map Amendment following a voluntary annexation to the Village of Lemont; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Lemont conducted a Public
Hearing on said Petitioner's request for a Zoning Amendment from an R -1 Single Family
Residence District to M -3 Manufacturing District; and
WHEREAS, notice of the aforesaid Public Hearing was held in the manner provided
by law and was published in the Lemont Metropolitan, a newspaper of general circulation
within the Village; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Zoning District is generally consistent with the Village
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Lemont Plan Commission recommended an amendment to the
Lemont Zoning Map from R -1 Single Family Residence District to M -3 Manufacturing
District; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees at their regular meeting on
December 27, 1988 unanimously voted to amend the zoning map from R -1 Single Family
Residence District to M -3 Manufacturing District and directed the Mayor and Clerk to
prepare and execute an Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, it appears, after a search of Village records, such Ordinance cannot be
located reflecting such action.
NOW, THEREFORE, IN ORDER TO MEMORIALIZE PRIOR BOARD
ACTION, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DUPAGE,
ILLINOIS:
That the Lemont Zoning Map be amended from R -1 Single Family Residence
District to M -3 Manufacturing District for the property legally described on the attached
Exhibit "A ".
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication in the manner provided by law.
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith shall be and the same
are hereby repealed.
The Village Clerk of the Village of Lemont shall certify to the adoption of this
Ordinance and cause the same to be published in pamphlet form.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND

That part of the southwest h of Section 14, Township 37 north, Range 11 east
of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:
PARCEL A
Beginning at the point of intersection of the ceterline of the Chicago and
Joliet Road with the east line of the west 438 feet of said southwest 14, which
point is 259.72 feet north (measured perpendicularly) from the south line
of said southwest 4, and running thence north along said east line of the
west 438 feet a distance of 842.55 feet to its point of intersection with
the southerly line of the former right of way of the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio
Railroad Company (formerly the Chicago and Alton Railroad) as the same was
located; thence northeaswardly along said southerly right of way line a distance
of 339.82 feet to a point which is 749.98 feet (measured perpendiculary) east
from the west line and 1236.21 feet (measured perpendicularly) north from
said south line of said southwest 14; thence southwardly a distance of 882.35
feet to a point on said certerline of the Chicago and Joliet Road which is
915.35 feet (measured perpendicularly) north from said south line of said
southwest 14; thence westwardly along said centerline of road a distance 71.77
feet to a point which is 843.90 feet (measured perpendicularly) east from
said west line and 362.51 feet (measured perpendicularly) north from said
south line of said southwest 14 and thence southwestwardly continuing along
said centerline of road a distance of 418.97 feet to the point of beginnings
excepting therefrom the southerly 120.5 feet thereof.

Beginning at the point of intersection of the west line of said southwest
14 with the northerly line of the Chicago and Joliet Road, which point is 182.86
feet north from the southwest corner of said southwest 4, and running thence
north along said west line a distance of 731.37 feet to its point of intersection
with the southerly line of the former right of way of the Gulf, Mobile and
Ohio Railroad Company (formerly the Chicago and Alton Railroad) as the same
was located; thence northeastwardley along said southerly right of way line
a distance of 477.09 feet to its point of intersection with the east line
of the west 438 feet of said southwest /;, which point is 1102.27 feet (measured
perpendicularly) north from the south line of said southwest 4; thence south
along said east line of the west 438 feet a distance of 808.49 feet to its
point of intersection with said northerly line of Chicago and Joliet Road,
and thence southwestwardly along said northerly road line a distance of 452.10
feet to the point of beginning;
