O-674-90 11/12/90ORDINANCE # THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, an Illinois municipal corporation located in Cook and DuPage counties: WHEREAS: The Downtown area of the Village of Lemont is of great historic and economic importance, and WHEREAS: Appropriate investment in the redevelopment of the Downtown area will benefit the Village of Lemont and its citizens and increase the taxable value of Downtown property, and WHEREAS: The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce has proposed to exert its best efforts to influence and direct potential investment toward objectives endorsed by the Village of Lemont, its Mayor and Board of Trustees, and WHEREAS: The program proposed by the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce, called the "Downtown Lemont" program, requires more than a single fiscal year to accomplish its objectives, and WHEREAS: The "Downtown Lemont" program requires hiring staff and making other financial commitments, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Trustees of the Village of Lemont: 1. To enter into a multi -year agreement with The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce, 2. To appropriate, from general funds of the Village of Lemont, the following amounts to be paid to the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce, in the years indicated: Fiscal Year 1991 -92 Fiscal Year 1992 -93 Fiscal Year 1993 -94 $4,963 $4,963 $4,963 3. That the amounts so appropriated are to be disbursed as requested by the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce during each fiscal year as indicated. The amounts paid are to be used for the expenses of the Downtown Lemont project and for no other purpose. 4. The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce will provide additional funds for this project from its own revenues, from other local taxing bodies, and from other sources, as necessary to assure a sufficient level of effort to meet project goals. 5. The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce will hire and supervise project staff and will provide office space, supplies, equipment, transportation and other necessary resources. 6. The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce will maintain segregated books of account and records of work progress, and will submit to the President of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont appropriate reports of revenue, expense and progress throughout the project term.
