ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SALE
MUNICIPALLY OWNED REAL ESTATE
ORDINANCE NO.
Ordinance Authorizing Sale of
Municipally Owned Real Property.
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont owns the following
described real property:
That part of block 9 of the Village of Lemont, a
subdivision of part of the Southwest 1/4 of section
20, Township 37 North, Range 11, East of the third
principal meridian, described as follows:
Commencing at the Southwesterly corner of said
block 9; thence Northeasterly, along the Southerly
line of said block, 59.11 feet for a point of
beginning; thence Northwesterly parallel with the
Westerly line of said block, 146.69 feet to the
Southerly line of New Avenue; thence Northeasterly
along said Southerly line of New Avenue, 47.05
feet; thence Southeasterly, parallel with the
Westerly line of said block, 78.89 feet; thence
Northeasterly parallel with the Southerly line of
said block, 39,00 feet; thence Southeasterly,
parallel to the Westerly line of said block, 58.00
feet to the Southerly line of said block; thence
Southwesterly, along the Southerly line of said
block, 85.03 feet to the point of beginning.
Situated in the County of Cook, State of Illinois;
which property is generally located between Main
Street and New Avenue and is currently used for
storage ; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of
Lemont have determined that it is no longer necessary,
appropriate, or in the best interest of the Village of Lemont
that it retain title to said real estate, and that it is not
required for the use of, or profitable to the Village of
Lemont; and
WHEREAS, notice has been given of the proposal to sell
such real estate and bids have been invited for the purchase
of such real estate, said notice having been published in the
LEMONT METROPOLITAN, certified copy of which is attached a
newspaper published in the municipality.
WHEREAS, pursuant to said notice, bids were opened at
the regular meeting of the corporate authorities held on the
11th day of January , 1988, and

WHEREAS, the following bids of the purchase of such
property have been received:

WHEREAS, the corporate authorities find and determine
that the best interests of the Village of Lemont and its
residents wi 1 1 be served by the acceptance of the bid
submitted by JOSEPH PEARSON and PAULINE PEARSON and the sale
of the aforesaid real estate to such bidder for the amount
bid, of FORTY -FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY
($45 , 320.00) DOLLARS, which amount represents the high bid and
is found to be in the best interest of the Village of Lemont;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the President and
bidder of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Cook County,
Illinois, as follows:
SECTION ONE: The corporate authorities find as facts the
recitals hereinabove set forth.
SECTION TWO: The bid of JOSEPH PEARONS and PAULINE
PEARSON in the amount of FORTY -FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND
TWENTY ($45,320.00) DOLLARS is hereby accepted by the
corporate authorities of the Village of Lemont for the sale of
the following described real estate:
That part of block 9 of the Village of Lemont, a

which property is generally located between Main
Street and New Avenue and is currently used for
storage ; and
SECTION THREE: The President is hereby authorized and
directed to sign and the Village Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to attest a contract for the sale and purchase of
the aforesaid real estate, which contract shall be in the form
attached hereto as Exhibit A.
SECTION FOUR: Upon satisfaction of the terms of the
aforesaid contract and upon the payment or securing of the
aforesaid bid price in the manner provided in said contract,
the President is hereby authorized and directed to convey and
transfer the aforesaid real estate to JOSEPH PEARSON and
PAULINE PEARSON by a proper deed of conveyance, stating
therein the aforesaid consideration, and the Village Clerk is
hereby authorized to acknowledge and attest such deed and to
affix thereto the seal of the Village of Lemont.
SECTION FIVE: The President and the Clerk are hereby
authorized, respectively, to execute and attest such other
documents as may be necessary to the conveyance herein
authorized.
SECTION SIX: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, by a vote of at least
three - fourths of the corporate authorities now holding office,
and approval in the manner provided by law.

Bids for the purchase of the aforesaid interest in the above
described property are hereby invited and will be received
by the Village Clerk at 418 Main Street, Lemont, Illinois.
Said proposals shall be addressed to:

and shall include a cashier's or certified check in the
amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) made
payable to the Village of Lemont, which shall be refunded
if the bid is not accepted.
All bids must be for a minimum of $35,000.00 and received
on or before 4:00 P.M., January 11, 1988, and will be
publicly opened and read aloud at the regular meeting of
the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont at
8:00 P.M. on January 11, 1988.
A contract may be awarded to the highest bidder whose
bid is found to be in the best interest of the Village of
Lemont. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject
any and all bids and to waive any informalities or
irregularities in the bidding. The Board of Trustees further
