ORDINANCE AMENDING LEMONT ZONING ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Lemont that Ordinance No. 426, entitled Lemont Zoning Ordinance, Section XV
(Violation, Penalty, Enforcement) is hereby amended to read as follows:
A. The Building Inspector is hereby designated and authorized to enforce
this Ordinance. However, it shall also be the duty of all officers, citizens, and
employees of the Village, particularly of all members of the police and fire
departments, to assist the Building Inspector by reporting to him any new
construction, reconstruction, improved land uses, or upon any seeming violation.
B. In addition to the authority hereinabove granted, Lemont Police Officers
are hereby designated and authorized to enforce Section V, Subsection J,4 entitled
"Commercial Vehicles ".
Commercial Vehicles shall include any vehicular equipment used or identified
for business purpose or not principally used by a resident for his own use. Trucks
and other commercial vehicular equipment shall not be parked or stored in a
residential district, except when located in a garage or a fully enclosed structure
or in a manner as to substantially conceal it from the view of adjoining property
owners if parked in the rear yard area.
Small vans, pickup trucks, and other similar vehicles made to transport
passengers with a capacity not to exceed eight (8) seat shall be considered private
passenger vehicles, and shall be exempted from the provisions of this Section.
C. Any person, firm or corporation who violated, disobeys, omits, neglects,
refuses to comply with, or who resists enforcement of any of the provisions of

this Ordinance shall upon conviction be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than
$200.00 for each offense. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall
constitute a separate offense.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith shall be and the
same are hereby repealed.
The Village Clerk of the Village of Lemont shall certify to the adoption of this
Ordinance and cause the same to be published in pamphlet form.
