A RESOLUTION OF OBJECTION FOR THE RECORD OF THE COOK COUNTY
ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS REGARDING A REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE TO
INCREASE THE GROSS AREA OF SIGN AND REDUCE SETBACK REQUIREMENTS
FOR A DOUBLE -FACED ILLUMINATED OUTDOOR ADVERTISING SIGN
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont is a zoned municipality within
limits near the property which is the subject of a request for a
variation in the cause known as Docket Number 5781 before the Cook
County Zoning Board of Appeals, said property being described as
follows:
that pt. of SE 1/4 of SE 1/4 (including pt. of lot 2 in
"Doolin & Kirks resubdivision and pt. of Christian Boes
subdivision)beg. at pt. on W. R.O.W. line of Rte. 83 (Tri
State Rd.) & N. line of SE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec. 14,
T37N, R11, E. of 3rd PM, thence W. 146.43', thence S.
416.97', thence E. 300', thence S. 22.41', thence E.
262.11' to aforesaid W. R.O.W. line of Rte. 83, thence
NW'ly along curve & tangent 615.06', to P.O.B. (See ZBA
Docket #5781)
WHEREAS, the entire boundary of the subject property is
within 1 1/2 miles of the corporate limits of the Village of
Lemont; and
WHEREAS, the need for the increase in sign area is not due to
the particular physical surroundings, shape or topographical
conditions of the specific property involved in the request; and
WHEREAS, the request for the increase in sign area would not
be unique to this specific property but could be applicable to any
other property within the same zoning classifications; and
WHEREAS, the Community has made a concerted effort to control
signage standards on main entrances into this historic Community.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Counties of Cook, DuPage and
Will, State of Illinois, that the ,Village of Lemont hereby objects
to the request for variance which is the subject of Cook County
Zoning Board of Appeals Docket Number 5781.
