AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING DISPOSAL BY PUBLIC AUCTION /SALE
OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT
WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three- fourths of the corporate authorities of the Village
of Lemont, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the Village of Lemont to
retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President/Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Lemont to sell said personal property at a public auction/sale to be held on Saturday, June
21, 1997.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT:
SECTION ONE:
Pursuant to section 11 -76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, Illinois Revised Statutes, Section
11 -76 -4, the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont find the following
property described in attached Exhibit A now owned by the Village is no longer necessary or
useful to the Village of Lemont, and the best interests of the Village of Lemont will be served
by its sale.
SECTION TWO:
Pursuant to said Section 11 -76 -4, the Village Administrator is hereby authorized and directed
to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by the Village of Lemont at public
auction/sale on Saturday, June 21, 1997.
SECTION THREE:
The Village Administrator is hereby authorized and may direct the Southwest Conference of
Local Governments to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property in a
newspaper published within the community before the date of said public auction/sale.
SECTION FOUR:
The Village Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title
ownership to the aforesaid personal property, to the successful bidder/buyer.
SECTION FIVE:
No bid which is less than minimum value set forth in list of property to be sold shall be
accepted, unless a lower amount is authorized by the Village Administrator or his
representative at the auction/sale.
SECTION SIX:
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, by vote of at least
three- fourths of the corporate authorities and approval in the manner provided by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY 'Ink, PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL & DU PAGE, ILLINOIS on
this 9th day of June , 1997.
