A RESOLUTION OF OBJECTION FOR THE RECORD OF THE COOK COUNTY
ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS REGARDING A REQUEST FOR SPECIAL USE
FOR OPERATION OF TRUCK & AUTO SALES & BODY SHOP
WITH SPRAY BOOTH PAINTING IN C -8 INTENSIVE COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT AT 10970 (OLD) ARCHER AVENUE
WHEREAS, The Village of Lemont is a zoned municipality with limits adjacent to the
property which is the subject of a request for a rezoning in the cause known as Docket Number 6691
before the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals, said property being described as follows:
THE N. 65 FEET OF S. 198.9 FEET OF LOT 1 DOOLIN & KIRK'S
RESUBDIVISION OF E. 404.7 FEET OF SW 1/4 OF SE 1/4 & OF SE 1/4 & THAT
PART OF LOT 1 IN RESUBDIVISION OF E. 404.7 FEET OF SW 1/4, BOTH OF
SE 1/4 OF SE 1/4 OF SECTION 14, TOWNSHIP 37 N. RANGE 11, E. OF THE
3RD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS. (EXCEPT LOTS
1,2,3,4 & 5 IN CHRISTIAN BOE'S SUBDIVISION)
COMMONLY KNOWN AS 10970 (Old) Archer Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the entire boundary of the subject property is within 1 '/2 miles of the corporate
limits of the Village of Lemont; and
WHEREAS, the existing Cook County C -8 Intensive Commercial District allows for many
intensive commercial uses that are not compatible with the adjacent C -3 and C -4 zoning; and

WHEREAS, the proposed special use would allow a more intensive use than allowed as a
permitted use in the C -8 District; and
WHEREAS, the use would cause a considerable increase in the amount of truck and
automobile traffic on (old) Archer Avenue which is a road which is in poor condition; and
WHEREAS, the proposed storage and maintenance of trucks in this area would cause a
further negative impact on the surrounding businesses and the existing residence to the south, and
would cause further blight and deterioration to properties in the area; and
WHEREAS, the proposed spray booth may have negative environmental effects within this
neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the special use would substantially alter the character of the neighborhood.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Lemont, Counties of Cook, DuPage and Will, State of Illinois, that the Village of Lemont
hereby objects to the request for a special use for truck and auto sales and body shop with spray
booth painting in a C -8 Intensive Commercial District, which is the subject of Cook County Zoning
Board of Appeals Docket Number 6691.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DuPAGE, ILLINOIS, on this
