ILLINCIS 5C525 Steven A. Jones Village of Lemont 418 Main Street Lemont, Illinois 60439 Dear Steve, /zaiy .acep egcc 4f-J/ February 14, 2000 Re: Covington Knolls Storm water detention Lots 111 and 113 I have addressed this to you in the interest of continuity. Enclosed is our trustee's deed conveying to the Village of Lemont Lots 111 and 113 in Covington Knolls Unit 1. Also enclosed is a copy of recent correspondence regarding our request that the Village accept ownership of the lots. Lot 111 is the large detention basin at the northwest corner of the development and Lot 113 is the basin at the east end of the development. The correspondence indicates that in February 1998 we inquired whether the Village would accept ownership of the basins. We did not ask to be relieved of any liability for completion, repair or replacement of the improvements associated with the basins. The Village's March 1998 letter of response states that the Village will accept ownership once certain remedial work described in the accompanying memorandum from the Village Engineer is complete, including as -built plans showing conformance of the basins with approved plans. In response to the memorandum, we enclosed the following: 1) December 4, 1997 memorandum from Dave Johnson to Mike Waldron, Strand Associates, Inc. under which as -built plans of detention basin #1- (Lot 113) were submitted. The memo indicates that the basin was constructed substantially in accordance with the approved design. Steven A. Jones Page 2 of 2 February 14, 2000 2) September 23, 1996 letter from Dave Johnson to Rob Davis, Strand Associates, Inc. under which as -built drawings for detention basins #3 and #4 (Lot 111) were delivered. 3) As -built plans for all four detention basins. Detention basin #2 (Outlot A in Covington Knolls Townhomes Unit 1) was deeded to the Covington Knolls Townhome owner's association. 4) The Hillview Ditch project, completion of which the Village Engineer saw fit to make a condition of accepting ownership of detention basins #3 and #4, is now complete at long last. Would you please ask the Village attorney to record the deed and arrange for the title commitment to be brought forward to the date of recording? Gallagher I* Henry has paid the title expenses.
