A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS IN- SERVICE TRAINING WITH TRI -RIVER POLICE TRAINING
REGION.
WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Illinois has recognized
the importance of providing mobile team in- service units to provide
regional in- service refresher courses and up -dated training to state
and local law enforcement officers;
And
WHEREAS, to facilitate and authorize the establishment of said
mobile team in- service units, the Legislature has passed Public Act 82-
674, known as the "Intergovernmental Law Enforcement Officers In-
Service Training Act "; and
WHEREAS, each and every law enforcement agency within the area
recognizes the value and legal necessity of up -dated continuing police
training for state and local law enforcement officers; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that the development of a regional
training program will provide flexibility in training, in conjunction
with state -side resources to assist law enforcement agencies to meet
local training needs in a timely manner as required by law:
WHEREAS, it is hereby recognized that an intergovernmental
agreement by the various municipal corporations is a necessity in the
establishment and development of such a regional training program:
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, a municipal
corporation, does hereby agree with the principles enumerated in Public
Act 82 -674 and does hereby resolve to enter into this intergovernmental
agreement to cooperate and work with the following municipal
corporations toward the establishment of a regional training program:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this intergovernmental agreement does not
formally commit any law enforcement agency or municipal corporation
financially or otherwise for the regional training program at this time.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DUPAGE, ILLINOIS, on this

TRI -RIVER POLICE TRAINING REGION
RELEASE AGREEMENT
The VILLAGE of LEMONT
, hereby agrees thats
its police personel will participate in various training programs and courses
offered and operated by Tri -River Police Training Region, Inc. All members
THE LEMONT Police Department who shall attend said
training shall do so officially as members of LEMONT Police
Department. The VILLAGE of LEMONT hereby
agrees that the insurance coverage if any for members of the LEMONT
Police Department shall cover any and all injuries received by said members during
such training, and that the Tri -River Police Training Region, the County of
Will and various municipalities whose facilities are used for training are not
liable for any injuries incurred during such training. In consideration for
permitting members of the
LEMONT Police Department to
participate in said courses and to use the facilities of the Tri -River Police
Training Region, in conjunction with said courses, the VILLAGE
of LEMONT does hereby release, hold harmless and does forever
discharge the Tri -River Police Training Region, as well as all of its agents
and employees, their successors and assigns from all departments, claims, demands,
damages, actions and causes of actions whatsoever which may occur as a result
of any physical injury or property damages that any members of the LEMONT
Police Department may sustain during their participation in the aforementioned
training programs and courses. The VILLAGE of LEMONT
further hereby agrees to indemify the Tri -River Police Training Region for any
damages (other than punitive or those caused by willful or wanton negligence)
incurred by the Tri -River Police Training Region from any member of the
LEMONT Police Department from any cause of action arising
from any physical injury or property damage occurring during said training courses.
The VILLAGE
LEMONT
does hereby
acknowledge that its execution of this agreement is a voluntary act on its
part and that the VILLAGE
of LEMONT
may refuse to
execute this agreement if it does not wish to have members of the
LEMONT - Police Department participate in the training
programs and courses to be offered by the Tri -River Police Training Region.
