A RESOLUTION ENDORSING CHICAGO SOUTHLAND DEVELOPMENT, INC.
AS THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICANT AND
ADMINISTRATOR OF ALL SINGLE FAMILY REHABILITATION FOR THE
VILLAGE OF LEMONT
WHEREAS, Chicago Southland Development, Inc. (CSDI), an Illinois not - for - profit
Corporation, through its Board of Directors, has requested that the Village Board of Lemont, Illinois,
support the transfer of its single - family rehabilitation program from Financial Community
Development Corporation to Chicago Southland Development, Inc. For the remainder of the
program year grant 99 -079 and the continuation of the Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) program and applications to be filed annually in 2000 through and including 2002
requesting single - family rehabilitation funds in accordance with the rules and regulations as set forth
by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the County of Cook, Department of
Planning and Development; and
WHEREAS, such Village endorsement is required prior to the Cook County Department of
Planning and Development's approval of the assignment of duties to CSDI.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Lemont, Counties of Cook, DuPage and Will, State of Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1: That the preambles of this Resolution are incorporated herein by
reference as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: That the Village finds that the Department of Housing and Urban
Development Single Family Rehabilitation program available to certain
municipalities who meet the criteria of the application as administered by the County
of Cook, is necessary for the rehabilitation of certain qualified property within the
Village of Lemont and is vital for the continuing improvement and development of
specific properties within the Village of Lemont.
SECTION 3: That in order to facilitate CDBG single - family rehabilitation program
to the citizens of the Village of Lemont, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Lemont have determined that it is in the best interest of the Village to
support, endorse and approve CSDI as the continuing administrator of the current
program and the future administrator for the preparation and administration of the
aforementioned applications on behalf of the Village.
SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect for HUD
fiscal year 1999 from and after its passage and approval as required by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DU PAGE, ILLINOIS,
on this 25th day of September , 2000.
