ORDINANCE NOe- -5 .- AN ORDINANCE GRANTING VARIANCES TO THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT SIGN ORDINANCE AT 206 MAIN STREET, LEMONT, ILLINOIS (All Tech Decorating) WHEREAS, Don Steadman, hereinafter referred to as "the Petitioner ", is the owner of an approximately .25 acre parcel, hereinafter referred to as "the subject property ", located at 206 Main Street, Lemont, Illinois and legally described in Exhibit "A ". WHEREAS, the Petitioner made application under the provisions of the Lemont Zoning Ordinance of 1980 (No. 426), requesting Variances to the Central Shopping District Sign Ordinance to allow the location of two (2) signs on the secondary side (State Street side) of the building and a Variance to allow signs to project higher than the bottom window sill of the second floor of the building, pursuant to Ordinance No. 895, Subsections "Location of Signs" and "Quantity of Signs" ; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Village of Lemont, Illinois, in accordance with said Zoning Ordinance, conducted a Public Hearing on the petition on August 5, 1997; and WHEREAS, a notice of the aforesaid Public Hearing was made in the manner provided by law and was published in the Lemont Reporter, a newspaper of general circulation within the Village; and WHEREAS, the Lemont Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended denial of the variations to the Village Board; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village have determined that the best interest of the Village will be served by the approval of this petition granting variations for the subject property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, that the petitioner, Don Steadman, be granted the requested variances, subject to the signage plans, attached hereto as Exhibit `B ", and subject to the issuance of building permits for the signs.
