AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIANCE
TO THE B -3 COMMERCIAL DISTRICT SIGN STANDARDS
AT 127TH STREET AND EAGLECREST DRIVE, LEMONT ILLINOIS

WHEREAS, Oil Experts, Inc., hereinafter referred to as "the Petitioner ", is the owner of an
approximately 1.12 ( + / -) acre parcel, hereinafter referred to as "the subject property", located at
127th Street and Eagle Crest Drive, Lemont, Illinois and legally described in Exhibit "A ".
WHEREAS, the Petitioner made application under the provisions of the Lemont Zoning
Ordinance of 1980 (No. 426), requesting a Variance to the B -3 Commercial District Sign Ordinance
to allow the total sign area to exceed the maximum 140 square feet of sign area permitted, exceeding
the maximum sign area by approximately 51 square feet; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Village of Lemont, Illinois, in
accordance with said Zoning Ordinance, conducted a Public Hearing on the petition on November
4, 1997, December 2, 1997 and January 6, 1998; and
WHEREAS, a notice of the aforesaid Public Hearing was made in the manner provided by
law and was published in the Lemont Reporter, a newspaper of general circulation within the Village;
and
WHEREAS, the Lemont Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended denial of the
variation to the Village Board; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village have determined that the best
interest of the Village will be served by the approval of this petition granting variation for the subject
property.
NOW,'1'HEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Lemont, that the petitioner, Oil Experts, be granted a variance to allow all signage on the
property to be 191 square feet in area instead of the maximum permitted 140 square feet, pursuant
to Section VIII -G -7 of the Lemont Zoning Ordinance, subject to the signage plans, attached hereto
as Exhibit `B ", and subject to the issuance of building permits for the signs.

OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COOK, WILL AND DU PAGE COUNTIES,
