AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT
ADOPTED BY THE

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Lemont, it is no
longer necessary or useful to or for the best interest of the Village of Lemont to retain the following
described personal property now owned by it:
One (1) Village of Lemont Police Department, eight (8) year old German Shepherd
canine named "Major" (the Sale Property); and
WHEREAS, Robert Borowski of Lemont, IL has offered to purchase the Sale Property for
the sum of ten dollars ($10.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Lemont, Cook County, Illinois, as follows:
Section One: The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as findings of the Board of
Trustees.
Section Two: Pursuant to Section 11 -76 -4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/11 -76-
4, the Board of Trustees finds that the Sale Property now owned by the Village of Lemont, is no
longer necessary or useful to the Village of Lemont and the best interest of the Village of Lemont
will be served by its sale.
Section Three: Pursuant to said Section 11 -76 -4, the Village Administrator, Gary C.
Holmes, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to sell the Sale Property to Robert Borowski
of Lemont, Illinois for the sum of ten dollars ($10.00).
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication in the manner provided by law.
The Village Clerk of the Village of Lemont shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance
and cause the same to be published in pamphlet form.

hereby ac'.crowledged, does hereby sell, assign, transfer and set over to Buyer ROBERT BOROWSKI the
following described personai property, to wit:
One (1) Village of Lemont Police Department, eight (8) year;old German Shepherd Canine
named "MAJOR"
AGREEMENT
& .do sip, , the Purchaser, for the sum of ten dollars ($10.00), is purchasing from the
Village of Lemont a police canine dog. The Purchaser agrees that the dog is only to be used as a pet,
and further agrees that at no time will the dog be used in or for security or law enforcement purposes
for any reason.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, /24 6 ,Q.,, S /4.1 (Purchaser), hereby agrees to
defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Village of Lemont, its officials, agents and employees,
against all injuries, deaths, loss, damages, claims, patent claims, suits, liabilities, judgments, cost and
expenses, which may in anywise accrue against the member, its officials, agents and employees,
arising in whole or in part or in consequence of the purchase of this dog by the Purchaser, its
employees, or subcontractors, or which may in anywise result therefore, except that arising out of
the sole legal cause of the member, its agents or employees, the Purchaser shall, at his/her own
expense, appear, defend and pay all charges of attorneys and all costs and other expenses arising
therefore or incurred in connections therewith, and, if any judgment shall be rendered against the
Village of Lemont, its officials, agents and employees, in any such action, the Purchaser shall, at its
own expense, satisfy and discharge the same.
