WHEREAS, The Village of Lemont is in need of construction services related to signage and traffic control work in conjunction with the Stephen Street Reconstruction Project; and WHEREAS, The Village of Lemont seeks to utilize the construction firm of Nafisco, Inc.; WHEREAS, The Village of Lemont desires to waive the advertisement for bid as required under 65 ILCS 5/8 -9 -1; WHERAS; the Village of Lemont, through its construction manager, and Nafisco, Inc. have negotiated a construction proposal and contract for the services to be provided. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BORAD OF TRUSTEES that the Construction Proposal, attached hereto as Exhibit A is hereby approved and that the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to sign the contract without the advertisement for bids. The general requirements and covenants that will govem over this project are those prepared by the Illinois Department of Transportation, and included in the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction ", adopted and in effect on the date of invitation for Bids. 3. The undersigned agrees to complete the "Signage and Traffic Control" work, in conjunction with other Contractors to collectively complete all the reconstruction improvements, within sixty (60) working days or by August 15, 2003, whichever occurs first, unless additional time is granted in accordance with the Specifications. Any requirement to increase the policy from $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 with per aggregate endorsement would have to be billed as an extra cost to the contract. • NAFISCO, Inc. does not have an installation floater (which should not be required for our type of work). • NAFISCO, Inc. takes exception to references to page C -23 for limit requirements (we have not seen it). • ITEM #3 — This is for cutting the post at the concrete surface, not for removal from below the surface. • ITEM #5 and #6 — This does not include coring holes in concrete; holes must already be cored where needed. • ITEM #7 — This includes providing and servicing equipment only (barricades, signs, detours). Initial set up at each stage is included but daily set ups are not included. Flag people are not provided. Arrowboards are not provided because they are not applicable to the location. If the project goes past the completion date of L.
