(Q ' �%(p ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PUBLIC SAFETY IMPACT FEES ADOPTED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT This 10th day of July , 2006 Published in pamphlet form by authority of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Counties of Cook, Will, and DuPage, Illinois this 10th day of July , 2006 ORDINANCE • 7a -o& AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PUBLIC SAFETY IMPACT FEES IN THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont (the "Village ") anticipates a continued population increase due to the subdivision and planned unit development of land within the jurisdiction of the Village; and WHEREAS, planning staff and projection numbers have indicated that such population growth will resume over the next twenty years resulting in the gradual disappearance of available land and a steady increase in land values; and WHEREAS, the Village welcomes the addition of new residents and desires to provide adequate public safety services to all Village residents and future residents; and WHEREAS, the Village recognizes that the addition of new residents to the municipality will impose immediate additional financial and user demands upon the public safety facilities and services; and WHEREAS, the Village finds that the health, safety, and general well -being of the community depends in part on the availability of public safety related services; and WHEREAS, it is hereby found and determined that the public interest, convenience, health, welfare and safety of an expanded Village will require the Lemont Police Department to construct an additional Police Facility; and WHEREAS, it has been found and determined that the provisions and locations of suitable Police Facilities to adequately protect the public of each new subdivision or planned unit development are just as essential to proper land development as are streets, sewer, water and sidewalks, and to that end the Village has determined that the dedication of land for a new Police Facility or cash contributions in lieu of actual land dedication or a combination of both shall be required of each annexing developer; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Illinois, as follows: 1. All annexations into the Village, unless waived by the Village Board after the effective date of such Resolution, shall contribute Public Safety Impact Fees in accordance with the following schedule as further described in Exhibit "A" of such Resolution. Single - family unit Multi - family unit $1,000.00 $1,000.00 2. The Village, upon receipt of any contribution under such Resolution, agrees to use such contributions exclusively for the acquisition of real property, acquisition of capital equipment for public safety use, and the construction of a new public safety facility caused by the increased growth of the Village.
