RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR THE COOK COMPOSITE / ASHLAND CHEMICAL WATER MAIN EXTENSION
Main Street: Parker Road to Maley Road
Maley Road: Main Street to Cook Composite Company
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont requires that the Cook Composite & Polymers /
Ashland Distribution Water Main Extension project be completed; and
WHEREAS, the Village seeks to utilize the construction firm of A Lamp Concrete
Contractors, Inc. for such work; and
WHEREAS, A Lamp Concrete Contractors, Inc. submitted a low bid for such work in the
amount of $268,088.80.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees that the
Contract with A Lamp Concrete Contractors, Inc. is hereby approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DuPAGE, ILLINOIS, on this 12th day
of October, 2005.

Listed below and on the attached "Bid Tabulation ", please find the results of the September 1,
2005 bid opening for the above - captioned project. Six (6) bids were received and tabulated,
with no errors being found.
A.Lamp Concrete Contractors $ 268,088.80
Riccio Construction Corp 284,834.50
George W. Kennedy Construction 305,631.50
J. Congdon Sewer Services 322,312.00
Unique Plumbing Company 327,176.00
Comstock Earthmoving, Inc. 397,112.50
Engineer's Estimate $ 239,416.00
These bids were received in an attempt to firm up the actual cost for this project. The bids
have a 60 -day hold, giving us more time to finalize the Cog Hill and NiCor easements. (We
already have received the IMTT easement.)Once we receive these easements, we will need
firm commitments from Ashland Chemical and Cook Composite to fund the project, based
upon the amounts indicated in the "Cost Distribution" sheet (attached).
A recapture agreement will need to be passed that will ensure that the Village will receive
funds from the D. Loniello Hussman Parcel at the northeast corner of Maley Road and Main
Street, when it is developed. This recapture amount will be $79,686.67, plus interest, to be
recaptured for the benefit of and shared by Cook Composite and Ashland Chemical.

At this time, the qualifications of the lowest bidder are being checked. Once the easements
are acquired, and the funds deposited to the Village, we will then recommend award of this
Contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
