Minutes VB 7-13-2009MINUTES VILLAGE BOARD MEETING .Iuly 13, 2009 The regular meeting of the Lemont Village Board was held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., President Brian Reaves presiding. Roll call: Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos, Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio; present. III. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos, to approve the following items on the consent agenda by omnibus vote: A. Approval of Minutes B. Approval of Disbursements Roll call: Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio, Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos; ayes. Motion passed. IV. MAYOR'S REPORT Motion by Stapleton, seconded by Miklos, to approve the appointment of Trustees Miklos, Stapleton & Virgilio to review the executive session minutes from January 1 through June 30, 2009, along with the Mayor & Clerk. Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed.. Mayor Reaves announced the signing of the Illinois Capital Improvement bill today by Governor Quinn. Lemont will be receiving approximately $450,000 through the legislation. Several IDOT local road projects have been approved for funding including $7 million for McCarthy Road Chief Shaughnessy presented the award for the design of the 2009 Kopz nKidz t-shirt to Kennedy Pawell. The 3rd annual Kopz n Kidz Day will be held on August 1, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Centennial Park. Lemont Township Supervisor, Steve Rosendahl gave a report to the Board on Township accomplishments thus far this year. He intends to provide quarterly reports to the Village Board. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION -AGENDA ITEMS. VI. CLERK'S REPORT Clerk Smollen received notice of a Public Hearing regarding the request for variation on the south side of New Avenue, approximately 1780' west of Timberline Drive in Lemont Township for a reduced side yard setback from 15' to 25' ;lot area from 40,000 sq. ft. to 10,864 sq. ft., and reduction of lot width from 150' to 100' to replace existing detached garage. Hearing will be held on August 5 at 2:30 p.m. at 69 W. Washington Street in Chicago. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos to approve destruction of executive session audio tapes for the period January 1, 2004 through December, 31, 2007. Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed. RESOLUTIONS Resolution R-42-09 -Resolution Accepting Plat of Dedication for Public Utility and Highway Purposes and Plat of Easement for Roadway and Traffic Signal Maintenance. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Chialdikas, to adopt said resolution. Roll call: Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio, Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos; ayes. Motion passed. VII. VILLAGE ATTORNEY REPORT VIII. VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR REPORT Gary Holmes reported that Staff met with representatives from Lockport, Joliet and Romeoville regarding the Heritage Corridor rail line. The Village and other municipalities along the Heritage Corridor line are talking about forming a consortium to promote and lobby Metra for improved service and additional trains. IX. BOARD REPORTS Virgilio Downtown Development. Heritage Fest on Saturday, July 11 was a great success. Trustee Virgilio thanked the many volunteers who planned and staffed the event. X. STAFF REPORTS Administration Ben Wehmeier, Assistant Village Administrator, announced 3 more closing dates for the bridge construction: July 16, 17 & 21S`. On July 21, the project is expected to switch to the other side of the bridge. Building Building Commissioner Ed Buettner reminded residents that the lawn sprinkler system RPZ valve needs to be inspected and certified annually to prevent cross contamination of the water supply. Residents receive 3 warnings to comply; two weeks after the final notice, citations will be issued. XI. UNFINISHED BUSINESS XII. NEW BUSINESS XII.
