SUMMARY/BACKGROUND
The Community Development Department is requesting authorization to purchase a 2027
Ford Explorer Active 4WD. The Explorer will replace a Village -owned Ford F-150 and will not
represent an addition to the Village fleet. Staff obtained governmental pricing through the
Suburban Purchasing Cooperative from Willowbrook Ford, Inc. in the amount of $40,076.63,
before build -out and before application of the trade-in allowance for the Village -owned Ford F-
150.
ANALYSIS
A total of $45,000 has been included in the Property Maintenance Capital Equipment Fund
budget. The quoted vehicle price is $4,923.37 below the budgeted amount before build -out
and before application of the trade-in allowance. The trade-in value has not yet been
determined and will reduce the Village's net purchase cost.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A FORD EXPLORER
FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the Village of Lemont ("Village") to replace a
vehicle used by the Community Development Department; and
WHEREAS, Village staff obtained government pricing from Willowbrook Ford, Inc.
through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative. This vehicle replacement has been identified in the
Five -Year Capital Equipment Plan and budgeted in the Property Maintenance Capital Equipment
Fund; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt and review of the quote submitted, the President and Village
Board have determined that it is advisable, necessary and in the best interests of the Village to
accept the quote submitted by Willowbrook Ford, Inc. for one (1) 2027 Ford Explorer Active
4WD, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, at a purchase price not to exceed
$40,076.63, before build -out and before application of the trade-in allowance for one (1) Village -
owned Ford F-150; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board finds that it is necessary, convenient, and in the interest of
the Village to authorize the purchase of the 2027 Ford Explorer Active 4WD.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Lemont as follows:
SECTION ONE: The foregoing findings and recitals are hereby adopted as Section
One of the Resolution and are incorporated by reference as if set forth verbatim herein.
SECTION TWO: The Village Board hereby waives the competitive bidding
requirements otherwise applicable to the purchase of a 2027 Ford Explorer Active 4WD and
accepts the quote from Willowbrook Ford, Inc. for the purchase of the vehicle at a purchase price
not to exceed $40,076.63, before build -out and before application of the trade-in allowance for one
(1) Village -owned Ford F-150.
SECTION THREE: The Village Administrator, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
trade in one (1) Village -owned Ford F-150, accept the trade-in allowance offered by Willowbrook
Ford, Inc., make payment to Willowbrook Ford, Inc. upon delivery of the 2027 Ford Explorer
Active 4WD in a net amount not to exceed $40,076.63, and take any other steps necessary to carry
out this Resolution.
SECTION FOUR: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval as provided by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DUPAGE,
ILLINOIS on this loth DAY OF AUGUST 2026.
