SUMMARY/BACKGROUND
The Public Works Department is requesting to dispose of surplus property that has outlived its
usefulness. The following property has outlived their useful life and will be utilized as trade-in
towards the purchase of equipment. West Side Tractor Sales provided the estimated trade-in
value quote of $6,000.00 for a 1992 John Deere 5200 tractor serial number 5200C110523 and
sickle bar.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS
VILLAGE PROPERTY
WHEREAS the Village of Lemont ("Village") is an Illinois Municipal Corporation
pursuant to the Illinois Constitution of 1970 and the Statutes of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village has determined according to law that there exists certain
personal property owned by the Village that is no longer necessary or useful to the Village and is
hereby declared to be surplus property; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Lemont, Counties of Cook, Will and DuPage, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1:
The forgoing findings and recitals, and each of them, are hereby adopted as Section 1 of
this Ordinance and are incorporated by reference as if set forth verbatim herein.
SECTION 2:
That pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4 (the
"Code"), the President and Board of Trustees find the following property to be no longer
necessary or useful to the Village and is hereby declared surplus property:
• 1992 John Deere 5200 tractor LV5200CI 10523 and sickle bar
SECTION 3:
That pursuant to the authority of the Code, the President and Board of Trustees hereby
authorize and direct the Village Administrator or his designee to dispose of said surplus property
in any manner he sees fit which may include sale of the above property by public auction, trade,
donation, or any other lawful means.
SECTION 4:
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMOTIT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL, AND DUPAGE, ILLINOIS,
ON THIS 0 DAY OF r 2026.
