R-26-26 for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code 2026418 Main Street I Lemont, IL 60439 TO: Village Board Meeting FROM: Ted Friedley THROUGH: SUBJECT: A Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code 2026 DATE: April 13, 2026 SUMMARY/BACKGROUND The Department of Public Works desires to use Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) money for the purchase of materials needed in its normal annual operations, such as road salt, blacktop for patching streets and alleys, street and roadway signs, gravel, parkway fill, traffic signal maintenance, and maintenance parts for street lighting. A municipal estimate of maintenance cost form needs to be compiled and a resolution for maintenance of streets and highways must be passed. The estimated maintenance cost to be funded with MFT funds is $1,298,000.00, which includes the annual resurfacing program. ANALYSIS 2026 Motor Fuel Tax Maintenance program is currently entered in the FY27 budget. The resolution must be passed to use MFT funds for the above stated.
