A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE VILLAGE'S DESIRE TO
PARTICIPATE IN PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS PURSUANT TO THE
COOK COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
which Resolution was passed by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont at a
meeting held on the 9TH day of February, 2009, at which meeting a quorum was
present, and approved by the Mayor of the Village of Lemont on the 9T" day of
February, 2009.
FURTHER CERTIFY that a fully executed original copy of said Resolution was duly
filed in the office of the Clerk on February 9, 2009 and that attached hereto is a copy of
said Resolution. That the original Resolution is entrusted to my care for safekeeping
and that I am the lawful keeper of same.

VILLAGE OF LEMONY
RESOLUTION
NO. -a9
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE VILLAGE'S DESIRE TO
PARTICIPATE IN PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS PURSUANT TO THE
COOK COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Cook County, as the Grantee of Federal Funds, has instituted a
program know as the Community Development Block Grant Program in order to
implement the distribution of said funds through the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development; and,
WHEREAS, application for funds for the 2009 Program Year commencing
October 1, 2009, and ending September 30, 2010, are presently being accepted by
Cook County as Grantee; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont is desirous of participating for the specific
purpose of the following Public Works projects for Program Year 2009;
Section 1: That a request is hereby made to the County of Cook, Illinois, for
Community Development Block Grant ( "CDBG ") funds for Program Year 2009 in the
amount of $255,000.00 for the projects hereinbefore listed.
PRIORITY NO. 1
State Street Water Main Replacement
The replacement of 320 -feet of existing 4 -inch and 8 -inch
water mains with a new 12 -inch ductile iron water main, on
State Street, from Cass Street to Illinois Street.

Stephen Street Water Main Replacement
The replacement of 380 -feet of 6 -inch water main on Stephen
Street, from Porter Street to south of McCarthy Road, with a
new 10 -inch ductile iron water main.

CDBG Funds requested as identified in the
Village's CDBG Program Year 2009 Application $135,000.00
Section 2: That the Mayor of the Village of Lemont is hereby authorized to certify that
local funds which have been identified as supporting its projects as set out within its
application will be made available upon the approval for the projects by the County of
Cook, Illinois, or pro -rated share thereof.
Section 3: That the Village Mayor and Village Clerk are hereby authorized to sign the
application and various forms contained herein; make all required submissions; and do
all things necessary to make application for the funds requested in Section 1 of this
Resolution, a copy of which application is on file with the Village Clerk.
Section 4: That the Village has published a notice of two (2) separate Public
Hearings held on January 27, 2009, and February 3, 2009, respectively, to elicit
comments from the public and to describe the program to the public. The Village will
comply with any and all other requirements of notice, reporting, maintenance, or any
other obligation as may be set forth under existing rules and regulations of the
Community Development Block Grant Program.
Section 5: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval as provided by Law.
