RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR KA STEEL ROAD RESURFACING
PRUYNE STREET CUTOFF TO RAILROAD SPUR
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont requires that the KA Steel Road Resurfacing Project be
completed; and
WHEREAS, the Village seeks to utilize the construction firm of Crowley- Sheppard Asphalt,
Inc. for such work; and
WHEREAS, Crowley- Sheppard Asphalt, Inc., Inc. submitted a low bid for such work in the
amount of $73,350.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees that the
Contract with Crowley- Sheppard Asphalt, Inc., Inc. is hereby approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DuPAGE, ILLINOIS, on this 24th_ day
of August, 2009.

Listed below and on the attached "Bid Tabulation ", please find the results of the July 31, 2009 bid
opening for the above - captioned project. Three (3) bids were received and tabulated, with errors being
found which did not affect the bid order.
Crowley- Sheppard Asphalt, Inc.. $ 73,350.00
Construction Mgmt Corp. of IL (dba Briggs Paving) 77,121.20
Brothers Asphalt Paving 94,824.00
Engineer's Estimate $ 75,625.00
The low bid submitted by Crowley- Sheppard Asphalt, Inc., in the amount of $73,350.00, is $2,275.00
(3.01 %) below the Engineer's Estimate of $75,625.00. Since Crowley- Sheppard Asphalt, Inc. is
qualified to perform this type of work, we therefore recommend that the Contract be awarded to
Crowley- Sheppard Asphalt, Inc., 6525 West 99th Street, Chicago Ridge, IL 60415, in the amount
of $73,350.00.
