RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR THE TALCOTT AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont requires that the Talcott Avenue Reconstruction Program be
completed; and
WHEREAS, the Village seeks to utilize the construction firm of Abbey Paving and Sealcoating
Company, Inc. for such work; and
WHEREAS, Abbey Paving and Sealcoating Company, Inc. submitted a low bid for such work in the
amount of $308,604.13.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees that the Contract with
Abbey Paving and Sealcoating Company, Inc. is hereby approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT,
,COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DuPAGE, ILLINOIS, on this 12th day of April, 2010.

Listed below and on the attached "Bid Tabulation ", please find the results of today's bid opening for the
above - referenced project. Five (5) bids were received and tabulated. Our review of the bids
discovered a computational error, which was corrected. This correction, however, did not affect the
resultant low bidder as shown.
Abbey Paving & Sealcoating $ 308,604.13
Greg Greenhill Construction 317,500.00
Alliance Contractors 352,738.85
Crowley- Sheppard Asphalt 376,241.00
A. Lamp Concrete Contractors 412,498.00
Engineer's Estimate $ 387,742.00
The low bid submitted by Abbey Paving & Sealcoating, in the amount of $308,604.13, is $79,137.87
(20.41%) below the Engineer's Estimate of $387,742.00. Abbey Paving & Sealcoating is prequalified
by IDOT to perform this type of work. Therefore, we recommend that the Contract be awarded to
Abbey Paving & Sealcoating Co., Inc., 1949 County Line Road, Aurora, IL. 60502, in the amount
of $308,604.13.
