RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR THE HILLVIEW DITCH SEDIMENT REMOVAL EXTENSION
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont requires that the Hillview Ditch Sediment Removal Project
(Keepataw /Freehauf Spillway) be completed; and
WHEREAS, the Village seeks to utilize the construction firm of Copenhaver Construction for such
work; and
WHEREAS, Copenhaver Construction submitted a low bid for such work in the amount of
$43,100.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees that the Contract with
Copenhaver Construction is hereby approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT,
COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DuPAGE, ILLINOIS, on this 8th day of August, 2011.

Listed below and on the attached "Bid. Tabulation ", please find the results of the August 2, 2011 bid
opening for the above - captioned project. Five (5) bids were received and tabulated, with no errors
being found. A summary is as follows:
Copenhaver Construction $ 43,100,00
Hoppy's Landscaping. 56,190.00
George's Landscaping 59,523.75
Len Cox & Sons Excavating 70,560.00
Lakes & Rivers Contracting 79,320.00
Engineer's Estimate . $ 61,025.00
The low bid submitted by Copenhaver Construction., in the amount of $43,100.00, is $17,925.00
(29.37 %) below the Engineer's Estimate of $61,025.00. Copenhaver Construction is prequalified by
IDOT to perform this type of work. We, therefore, recommend that the Contract be awarded to
Copenhaver Construction, 121 Center Drive, Gilberts, IL 60136, in the amount of $43,100.00.
