RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT
HOUSTON STREET AND STATE STREET
WATER TREATMENT PLANT REHABILITATION
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont requires that the Houston Street and State Street Water
Treatment Plant Rehabilitation project be completed; and
WHEREAS, the Village seeks to utilize the construction firm Meccon Industries, Inc. for such work;
and
WHEREAS, Meccon Industries, Inc. submitted a low bid for such work in the amount of
$1,800,000.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees that the Contract with
Meccon Industries, Inc. is hereby approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DuPAGE, ILLINOIS, on this 14th day of March, 2011.

Listed below and on the attached "Bid Tabulation ", please find the results of the bid opening of March
8, 2011, for the above - referenced project. Five (5) bids were received and tabulated, with a
computational error being found that ,did not affect the low bidder.
Meccon Industries, Inc. $ 1,800,000.00
Manusos General Contracting 1,869,000.00
Concord Construction Services 1,888,000.00
IHC Construction Company 1,931,000.00
Makim Construction Corp 1,998,000.00
Engineer's Estimate $ 1,971,450.00
The low bid submitted by Meccon Industries, Inc., in the amount of $1,800,000.00, is $171,450.00
(8.70 %) below the Engineer's Estimate of $1,971,450.00. Since Meccon Industries, Inc. is qualified to
perform this type of work, we therefore recommend that the Contract be awarded to Meccon
Industries, Inc., 2703 Bernice Road, Lansing, IL 60438, in the amount of $1,800,000.00.
