I -355 (FAP 340) AND CONSTRUCTION OF A FULL
INTERCHANGE AT 127TH STREET.
ITEM VI.B.2
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont has been strongly supportive of the extension on
Interstate 355 from its present southern terminus to Interstate 80; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont has been strongly supportive of the proposed full
access interchange on Interstate 355 at 127th Street; and
WHEREAS, the extension of Interstate 355 and construction of an interchange at
127th Street will provide significant transportation and economic development benefits to
the Southwest suburban region and Village of Lemont; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking public input as part
of the public hearing process required for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Lemont is strongly
supportive of the extension of Interstate 355, and the construction of a full access
interchange at 127th Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such support is being reaffirmed as part of the
public input process associated with the FAP 340 public hearing.
