R-273-93 Supporting and consenting to the filing of a Cook County class 6B application for the property located at 305 Canal Street in the Village of Lemonttt l.� VILLAGE OF LEMONT RESOLUTION NO. �7J DATE OF APPROVAL (o VILLAGE OF LE "418 Main StreeONT t Lemont, IL 60439 93647716 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AND CONSENTING TO THE FILING OF A COOK COUNTY CLASS 6B APPLICATION FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 305 CANAL STREET IN THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Illinois, is interested in encouraging the expansion of existing manufacturing businesses and the attraction of new manufacturing businesses to the Village of Lemont, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Illinois is aware of the long term benefits of encouraging manufacturing, including the creation of employment opportunities and increase in assessed valuation; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Illinois realizes that the Village of Lemont is in competition with other municipalities throughout the state and in other states for industrial prospects; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Illinois, is desirous of providing practical incentives for the construction and expansion of manufacturing uses in the Village of Lemont; and WHEREAS, the Cook County Real Property Assessment Classification Ordinance, as amended, provides that the Village of Lemont may pass a resolution approving the use by the Cook County Assessor of the aforementioned Class 6B Property Tax Incentive Abatement; and WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont has received an application from J.Paul and Eileen E. Orednick seeking the adoption of a resolution authorizing the County of Cook, to determine that a parcel located at 305 Canal Street (the "Subject Property") in the Village of Lemont and legally described on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof, qualifies for Class 68 Tax Treatment pursuant to the Cook County Real Property Assessment Classification Ordinance; and WHEREAS, J.Paul and Eileen E. Orednick have undertaken a program to substantially rehabilitate an existing historic property; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, has determined that this incentive is necessary for development to occur on the subject property and that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, supports and consents to the Class 68 Application submitted to the Cook County Assessor. WHEREAS, J.Paul and Eileen Orednick will have approximately twelve (12) employees at this site; and WHEREAS, J.PauI and Eileen Orednick made proper application to the Village in accordance with the necessary documentation and application fee required by the Enabling Ordinance No. 766; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Illinois as follows: That the property owned by J. Paul and Eileen E. Orednick to be occupied by BG Industries and legally described on Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof, is within a properly certified Tax Increment Finance (TIF) District; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Illinois, hereby approve the use of the Class 68 Tax Incentive by the Cook County Assessor for the aforementioned property.
