DATE OF APPROVAL A RESOLUTION REQUESTING TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO SINGLE - FAMILY REHABILITATION PROJECTS WHEREAS, Cook County has been designated as an "Urban County" by the Department of Housing and Urban Development under the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Acts of 1974, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Acts "); and WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont, a municipal corporation located in Cook, DuPage, and Will Counties, is a subgrantee of Cook County under the provisions of said Acts; and WHEREAS, the Village applied for and received an award of $125,000 toward the reconstruction of Logan Street from Hickory to State Streets, known as Project 92 -036; and WHEREAS, said award by Cook County was based on 1980 census data, which indicated that the project area would qualify as low to moderate income; and WHEREAS, more recent 1990 census data indicate that the area no longer qualifies as low to moderate income, thereby making the project ineligible according to HUD guidelines; and WHEREAS, Cook County has offered the Village the opportunity to transfer these funds to Project 93 -044 for single - family rehabilitation. is - 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont, Counties of Cook, DuPage and Will, that the Village hereby requests that Cook County transfer $125,000 from Project 92 -036 to 93 -044.
