RESOLUTION /'z
WHEREAS, in 1988, the Village of Lemont created
a three year plan that identified capital improvements,
housing rehabilitation and commercial revitalization
as issues that need assistance in maintaining their
integrity; and
WHEREAS, Cook County has been designated as an
"Urban County" by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development under the provisions of the Housing and
Community Development Acts of 1974 and 1977, and the
County will receive an entitlement of funds during
the period of October 1, 1989, and September 30, 1990,
pursuant to said Acts; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont is eligible to
apply to Cook County to receive Community Development
funds to assist low and moderate income areas within
the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the President
and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lemont that
the Village proceed with the proposed Re- development
Plan for the community and that the Village elect
to participate in the County's Community Development
Block Grant Program and request funds for eligible
projects that address the issues in the plan.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village request
funding for the following projects:
1. Capital Improvement - street resurfacing $130,000
2. Single Family Residential Rehabilitation $ 40,000
3. Capital Improvement - sidewalk improvement $ 6,500
and that the Village President, Village Clerk, Village
Attorney, and Village Administrator are authorized
to sign the agreements and any other applications
or documentations necessary to participate in said develop-
ment grants.
