R-429-96 Authorizing execution of agreement with commonwealth edison for undergrounding of utilities associated with main street improvementsRESOLUTION RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH COMMONWEALTH EDISON FOR UNDERGROUNDING OF UTILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH MAIN STREET IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont is undertaking roadway and streetscape improvements to Main Street; and WHEREAS, the Village seeks to relocate overhead telephone and electrical facilities to provide for underground services; and WHEREAS, the attached agreement between the Village of Lemont and ComEd will provide for the undergrounding of ComEd facilities within the project area. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the attached utility undergrounding agreement in the amount of $254,144.36 is hereby approved. Extend service conduit(s) a minimum of two feet into undisturbed earth outside building wall. 7. Install, own, and maintain secondary cable to ComEd transformers or service pedestals as indicated on the sketch. Cable to be sufficient length to reach the secondary connections of the transformers. 8. Furnish lugs and connect at switch. 9. Withstand self - induced flicker and where any of the customer's utilization equipment has characteristics which, in the company's judgment, may cause interference with service to other customers or result in operation at a low power factor, the customer shall, at the request of the company, provide suitable facilities to preclude such interference or improve such power factor, or both, as the case may be. Otherwise, the company shall have the right to provide, at the expense of the customer, the facilities necessary to preclude such condition or conditions. 10. Village to change any overhead raceways to underground raceways for underground services leading directly to the meter. Village also to provide drawings to show exact location of meter inside the buildings. 11. Install, own, and maintain open delta transformer pad indicated on sketch. (Per C5289) 12. Remove all black top within the proposed project improvement area. Coordinate with ComEd. ComEd to do trenching after black top has been removed. 13. Customer to install pipe under driveways for secondary cable as indicated on the sketch. 14. Customer /village to install all steel pipe under railroad tracks as indicated on the sketches. Trench and backfill, concrete encased 5" plastic conduit and/or directional bore and install polypipe for primary and secondary cable. Trenching to be done under normal soil conditions if weathered bedrock is encountered, the customer /village will be responsible for additional costs of abnormal trenching and backfill. (Costs range from $275/Cu. Yd. to $475/Cu. Yd.). 4. Install, own and maintain secondary service wire according to "Information and Requirements for the Supply of Electric Services (Section 4)." Extra costs will be paid by the Customer/Village depending on the final location of meter and raceways. 5. Furnish lugs and connect secondaries at transformers. 6. Apply for underground train crossings. Work cannot be done till crossings are approved. Special Notes: 1. These costs are contingent upon the work being performed as specified in this document. Changes or revisions could affect the costs. Estimate is good for six months. 2. This cost estimate is for ComEd Company facilities only.
