RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A COMMON
CABLE FRANCHISE RENEWAL DATE
WHEREAS, Will County Governmental League (WCGL) members served by
Continental Cablevision have held preliminary discussions on jointly establishing a date for
cable television franchise renewals and other possible joint activities; and
WHEREAS, based on these discussions many Will County municipalities and their
residents would potentially benefit through joint cable franchise activities with Continental
Cablevision; and
WHEREAS, Continental Cablevision has agreed to a common franchise date for any
interested WCGL members as well as possible joint franchise negotiation activities.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Lemont supports a
common franchise renewal date of July 1, 1997 and will accordingly enter into an agreement
with Continental Cablevision.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be distributed to
Continental Cablevision and the Will County Governmental League.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Lemont, Counties of Cook, Will and DuPage, Illinois on this 22nd day of July
1996.

Sample Resolution Supporting A Common Cable Franchise
Renewal Date
At yesterday's Will County Administrators' meeting, the attached sample
resolution was reviewed and approved for distribution to interested League
members. If you are in support of establishing a common cable renewal
franchise date of July 1, 1997, your board or council is asked to adopt the
sample or a similar resolution. The League is requesting that interested
municipalities take this action and provide the League with a copy before
September 1st so that the group can continue its planning for joint renewal
activities.
