R-21-97 Supporting A Revised Common Cable Franchise Renewal DateRESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A REVISED COMMON
CABLE FRANCHISE RENEWAL DATE
WHEREAS, Will County Governmental League (WCGL) members served by Continental
Cablevision have previously adopted a July 1, 1997 common date for cable television franchise
renewals; and
WHEREAS, a new timetable for joint activities has been established which includes the
proposed hiring of a cable consultant and commencement of an approximately twelve month work
program in May, 1997; and
WHEREAS, Continental Cablevision has agreed to this revised common franchise date for
WCGL members.
NOW, 'THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Villlage of Lemont supports a common
franchise renewal date of July 1, 1998 and will accordingly enter into an agreement with Continental
Cablevision.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be distributed to Continental
Cablevision and the Will County Governmental League.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL, AND DU PAGE, ILLINOIS,
