RESOLUTION CONFIRMING SUPPORT FOR
THE EXTENSION OF THE I -355 TOLLWAY
PROJECT BETWEEN INTERSTATE 55 AND
INTERSTATE 80
WHEREAS, the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority has committed planning and
financial resources towards the extension of I -355 from Interstate 55 to Interstate 80, and
WHEREAS, the Illinois State Legislature and Governor have approved the completion of
this roadway improvement, and
WHEREAS, local communities throughout the I -355 corridor have implemented planning
studies and provided support for the extension due to transportation benefits and economic
development opportunities, and
WHEREAS, local community support of this project has continued despite the delays
which have occurred, and
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont seeks to express a continued desire to proceed with
the completion of this project at the earliest possible opportunity.
NOW '11:LJ;REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY 1HE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES that the Village of Lemont seeks to express a continued desire to proceed with
the completion of this project at the earliest possible opportunity.
