RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID OF
COUNTRY LANDSCAPE & SUPPLY FOR CASTLE RESTORATION
WHEREAS, The Village of Lemont seeks to restore the landmark Castle structure in the Recreation
Bowl; and
WHEREAS, The Village of Lemont has received funding from the State of Illinois specifically for
restoration of this structure; and
WHEREAS, The Village of Lemont advertised the project for bid in the Lemont Reporter -
Metropolitan; and
WHEREAS, Country Landscape & Supply submitted the lowest responsive bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees that the bid of
Country Landscape & Supply in the amount of $85,820 for restoration of the Castle facilities in the Recreation
Bowl is hereby awarded.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DU PAGE, ILLINOIS on this 22nd
day of October , 2001.

PROJECT: RESTORATION OF OLD CASTLE FACILITIES IN LEMONT
BOWL AREA
1. Repair or replacement of overhead door with pre - finished aluminum, manual overhead
rolling door with locking mechanisms. $3800.00
2. Restoration of the two "window" openings in lower level to original dimensions and
install (2) non - vision, pre - finished aluminum louvers and decorative iron security bars,
painted/colored to Village approved color. $2200.00
3. Cleaning by means of powerwash of outer walls, pillars, and concrete deck &
tuckpointing of walls and pillars. $18,100.00
4. Replacement of concrete tops on pillars with (smooth - faced) limestone *. Electrical
conduit provided to top of caps. $3600.00
5. Replace concrete railing caps with (smooth- faced) limestone* (approximately 6'
sections) $6720.00
6. Restoration of limestone steps leading from base of bowl to platform of Castle
(concrete deck) with limestone. $38,150.00
7. Install the necessary drains in upper castle concrete deck for adequate stormwater
drainage. Drainage piping will be concealed. Design will be subject to Village approval.
$800.00
8. Repair concrete deck of Castle as necessary. $700.00

10. Provide split rail fencing and landscaping along east and north side of Castle
structure —plans to be provided by contractor and approved by Village. Landscape Plan
will include buffer plantings (evergreens) along SE Corner to screen structure from
residential area. $10,750.00
