R-39-03 Authorizing The Use Of A Private Well For A Geo-Thermal HVAC SystemRESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF A
PRIVATE WELL FOR A GEO- THERMAL HVAC SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Community Bank of Lemont is building a new banking facility located at
1229 State Street; and
WHEREAS, the Community Bank of Lemont wishes to install a geo- thermal heating,
ventilating and air - conditioning system in their new facility which utilizes a private on -site well; and
WHEREAS, Village of Lemont Ordinance 0 -39 -01 amended the Illinois Plumbing Code
requiring the elimination of a private well within one year of connection to the Village water system,
and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont dos not wish to restrict the use of innovative and
environmentally friendly methods for providing heating and air - conditioning to buildings.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Lemont that upon Board consideration of the above - stated reasons, that Section 890.17
(e) of the Lemont Building Code requiring the elimination of private wells when connection to the
Village water system is made is hereby waived based on the following conditions:
1. That the private well piping must maintain a physical air -gap /separation from the
Village water system; and
2. That continued operation/existence of the private well does not violate any EPA
restrictions or provisions of the Illinois Plumbing Code.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL, AND DU PAGE, ILLINOIS,
