RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT TO
McGILL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
CHESTNUT CROSSING TRAFFIC CALMING PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont requires construction services for pavement
improvements locations in Chestnut Crossing Subdivision; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont seeks to utilize the construction firm of McGill
Construction Company; and
WHEREAS, McGill Construction Company has submitted a low bid for such work in the
amount of $48,430.50.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees that the
award of contract with McGill Construction Company is hereby approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DUPAGE,
ILLINOIS, on this 9th day of June , 2003.

Listed below and on the attached "Bid Tabulation ", please find the results of the bid
opening for the above - captioned project, as bid on May 22, 2003 @ 10:30 am. Five (5) bids
were received and tabulated, with one error being found, that did not affect the order of the
bids.

This project includes the construction of the traffic "pork chop" on Ashbury Drive at Archer
Avenue, and the traffic - calming circle at Chestnut Crossing and 128th Street.
The low bid submitted by McGill Construction Company, in the amount of $48,430.50, is
$4,585.50 (10.46 %) above the Engineer's Estimate of $43,845.00. Since McGiI!
p Construction Company is qualified to perform this type of work, we therefore recommend

Please be advised that the preliminary design plan for the proposed work on
131st St. and Ashbury Street for the Village of Lemont is not in conflict with
future IDOT work. However, please coordinate with our Bureaus of Local
Roads and Programming any compatibility issues that may arise at the subject
location. The Bureau of Traffic Permits section will not issue a permit because
a permit will not be required.
