RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT TO
K -FIVE CONSTRUCTION CORP. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
COUNTRY LANE /COURT RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont requires construction services for pavement and utilitiy
improvements along Country Lane and Country Court; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Lemont seeks to utilize the construction firm of K -Five
Construction Corp.; and
WHEREAS, K -Five Construction Corp. has submitted a low bid for such work in the amount
of $424,969.05.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees that the
award of contract with K -Five Construction Corp. is hereby approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, COUNTIES OF COOK, WILL AND DUPAGE,
ILLINOIS, on this 23rd day of June , 2003.

Listed below and on the attached "Bid Tabulation ", please find the results of the bid opening for the
above - captioned project, as bid on May 22, 2003 @ 10:00 am. Four (4) bids were received and
tabulated, with one error being found that did not affect the order of the bids.
K -Five Construction Corp $ 424,969.05
Brothers Asphalt Paving, Inc 429,069.00
Johnson Blacktop, Inc 472,027.43
James D. Fiala Paving Company, Inc. 496,119.20
Engineer's Estimate $ 452,599.50
This project consist of the complete reconstruction of Country Lane, from Fourth Street to Kromray
Road, and the Country Court cul-de -sac; including a new water main with services to each lot. Also
included is the repair and resurfacing of Kromray Road, from Country Lane to McCarthy Road.
The low bid submitted by K -Five Construction Corp., in the amount of $424,969.05, is $27,630.05
(6.10 %) below the Engineer's Estimate of $452,599.50. Since K -Five Construction Corp. is qualified
to perform this type of work, we therefore recommend that the Contract be awarded to K -Five
Construction Corp., 13769 Main Street, Lemont, IL 60439, in the amount of $424,969.05.
