May, P. E., Village Engineer Subject: New Avenue Culvert Bid Tabulations Dear Mr. May: Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. (CBBEL) has reviewed and tabulated the five bids that were opened and read publicly on Monday, June 03, 2002 in the Village Hall. The bad tabulations are attached to this letter. Two bids had discrepancies that resulted in proposal costs differing from as -read prices during the bid openings. The noted discrepancies are as follows: • The bid from R & W Clark Construction contained discrepancies such that the total cost was different than the as -read proposal price. These discrepancies did not change this proposal substantially. • The bid from Kovilic Construction Co., Inc. contained discrepancies and the bid package was incomplete. There discrepancy in a unit price extension that substantially changed the proposal price from the as -read proposal price. The contractor also did not include Addendum No. 1 with his bid submittal, as stated on the addendum. The apparent low bidder for the contract was Thos. M. Madden Company with a bid of $269,780.00. CBBEL has reviewed the Contractor's bid proposal and found it to conform to the requirements of the -bid documents. 7085972563 CBBEL CAL SAG 713 P03 JUN 03 '02 18:05 Page 2 of 2 Letter to Stephen M.
