Minutes VB 10-26-2009MINUTES VILLAGE BOARD MEETING October 26, 2009 The regular meeting of the Lemont Village Board was held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., President Brian Reaves presiding. Roll call: Blatzer Chialdikas, Miklos, Sniegowski, Stapleton; present. Trustee Virgilio absent. III. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Sniegowski, seconded by Miklos, to approve the following items on the consent agenda by omnibus vote: A. Approval of Minutes B. Approval of Disbursements C. 0-66-09 -Ordinance Amending Chapter 5.04 of the Lemont Municipal Code: Alcoholic Beverages. D. R-60-09 -Resolution Approving Signors with MB Financial Bank. Roll call: Sniegowski, Stapleton, Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos, ayes. Virgilio absent. Motion passed. IV. MAYOR'S REPORT Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos, to approve a Proclamation Declaring November 3 as Milton Wend Day in honor of his 100~h birthday. Voice vote: 5 ayes. Motion passed. Officer Therese George was officially promoted to Sergeant Therese George and received the oath of office. Mayor Reaves reported that the work on the State Street bridge should be completed by this weekend. The fitness building at Lemont Park District will open in December. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION -AGENDA ITEMS VI. CLERK'S REPORT Clerk Smollen attended the Municipal Clerks Institute Academy through the University of Illinois Springfield on October 13 -16. All sessions except one were done by new professors who made exceptional presentations. ORDINANCES RESOLUTIONS Resolution R-61-09 -Resolution Granting a Public Utility Easement for Talcott Avenue Parking Lot. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Stapleton, to adopt said resolution. Roll call: Sniegowski, Stapleton, Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos; ayes. Virgilio absent. Motion passed. Resolution R-62-09 -Resolution Approving Local Agency Agreement for Federal Participation for the McCarthy Road/Archer Avenue/Derby Road Intersection Improvement. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos, to adopt said Resolution. Roll call: Sniegowski, Stapleton, Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos; ayes. Virgilio absent. Motion passed. Resolution R-63-09 -Resolution Granting 60-Day Extension for Special Use for PUD and Zoning for 3.73 Acre Parcel at 15884 W.127'"Street (Old Quarry). Motion by Miklos, seconded by Stapleton, to adopt said resolution. Roll call: Sniegowski, Stapleton, Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos; ayes. Virgilio absent. Motion passed. VII. VILLAGE ATTORNEY REPORT VIIL VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR REPORT IX. BOARD REPORTS Miklos Public Safety. On November 1 from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. a fundraiser will be held for the Police Chaplain program. Fifteen percent of the receipts will go to the program. S.A.L.T. is sponsoring a Senior Expo on November 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus School, State & Logan Streets. Sniegowski Finance. Trustee Sniegowski presented the estimate of the 2009 Property Tax Levy. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos to accept the estimate of the 2009 Property Tax levy. Voice vote: 5 ayes. Motion passed. X. STAFF REPORTS Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy announced that Trick or Treat hours are 3:00 - 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. Sgt. Therese George (Thompson) is the first female officer to be sworn in as a Lemont Police Sergeant. XI. UNFINISHED BUSINESS XII. NEW BUSINESS XII.
