Roll call: Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos, Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio; present. III. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Miklos, seconded by Blatzer, to approve the following items on the consent agenda by omnibus vote: A. Approval of Minutes B. Approval of Disbursements C. Ordinance 0-23-10 -Ordinance Amending Lemont Municipal Code Chapter 5.04: Alcoholic Beverages. Roll call: Blatzer, Chialdikas, Miklos, Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio; ayes. Motion passed. lV. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Reaves reported that the Mayor's Drive for Charity was a success, taking in $30,000 after expenses. Motion by Chialdikas, seconded by Miklos, to open a Public Hearing on Annexation Agreement for Approximately 2.62 Acres Located at 16754 New Avenue (Cox Property). Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed.There being no public comment a motion was made by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos, to close the Public Hearing. Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed. Motion by Chialdikas, seconded by Sniegowski, to open a Public Hearing on Annexation Agreement for Approximately 5.9 Acres located at 16748 New Avenue (Tiedt). Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed. Motion by Stapleton, seconded by Blatzer, to close the Public Hearing. Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos, to approve a Proclamation on the 50"' Anniversary of Lemont Boy Scout Troop 149. Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos, to approve a Proclamation Declaring the Month of May, 2010 as Motorcycle Awareness Month. Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed. Motion by Stapleton, seconded by Sniegowski, to approve a Proclamation Declaring May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 9 - 15 as National Police Week in Lemont. Voice vote: 6 ayes. Motion passed. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos, to approve a Proclamation Declaring May 9 as Paint the Town Purple Week. Voice vote: 6 ayes Motion passed. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION -AGENDA ITEMS Joyce Affelt, representing the residents of Warner Circle asked for a discount on garbage service of $8.00 per town house, due to the fact that the residents are mostly seniors and do not have yard waste. V. CLERK'S REPORT Clerk Smollen reported that she attended the South & West Municipal Clerks' meeting on May 6 in Homewood. The speaker's topic was how municipalities can use various forms of social media on the Internet. ORDINANCES Ordinance 0-24-10 -Ordinance Authorizing Execution of an Annexation Agreement for Approximately 2.62 Acres Located at 16754 New Avenue (Cox property). Motion by Sniegowski, seconded by Miklos, to adopt said ordinance. Roll call: Chialdikas, Miklos, Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio, Blatzer; ayes. Motion passed. Ordinance 0-25-10 -Ordinance Annexing 2.62 Acre Parcel Located at 16754 New Avenue (Cox Property). Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Miklos, to adopt said ordinance. Ordinance 0-28-10 -Ordinance Rezoning Approximately 8.52 Acres Located at 16748 and 16754 New Avenue from Cook County I-1 to Lemont M2 General Manufacturing District. Motion by Stapleton, seconded by Blatzer, to adopt said ordinance. Roll call: Chialdikas, Miklos, Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio, Blatzer; ayes. Motion passed. Ordinance 0-29-10 -Ordinance Adopting a Successor Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Village of Lemont and MAP Sergeants' Union. Motion by Miklos, seconded by Sniegowski, to adopt said ordinance. Roll call: Chialdikas, Miklos, Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio, Blatzer; ayes. Motion passed RESOLUTIONS Resolution R-31-10 -Resolution Accepting a ComEd License. Motion by Blatzer, seconded by Stapleton, to adopt said Resolution. Roll call: Chialdikas, Miklos; Sniegowski, Stapleton, Virgilio, Blatzer; ayes. Motion passed. VI. VILLAGE ATTORNEY REPORT VIII. BOARD REPORTS Sniegowski Finance. A proposed 30% decrease in revenue amounting to $300,000 to the Village of Lemont was made by the Governor. Trustee Sniegowski asked all residents to call on our Representatives and Senator to vote no on this proposal. Stapleton Community Development. Census is going well with 85% of Lemont residents having turned in their census forms. Census workers with proper identification will be contacting residents to collect the information. Virgilio Downtown Development. The 2010 Quarryman Challenge was a success on Saturday, May 8. Many volunteers were thanked for their help with the race as were sponsors and clubs who participated. IX. STAFF REPORTS Public Works Ralph Pukula, Public Works Director, invited residents to see the public works building during Public Works week by calling the Public Works Director. Police The Police Chief announced that the annual Cop on Top fundraiser will be held on May 21 to benefit Special Olympics at Dunkin' Donuts at Archer & Derby Road. X. UNFINISHED BUSINESS XI.
